Quiet hours
Quiet hours stop sequence email, SMS, and reminder steps from going out late at night, while still allowing overnight first replies on the steps you choose.
This setting is off until an admin turns it on. It does not change the organisation working week used for jobs and the planner. See Planner.
Set the send window
Admins can:
- Open Sequences from the Side Nav.
- Click Configure quiet hours.
- Turn quiet hours on.
- Choose Send from and until. The default is 8:00am to 8:00pm.
- The times save as you change them.
You can also open Admin > Sequence Settings.
Times use the timezone from your organisation’s map location. The same window applies every day, including weekends.
Allow overnight first replies
When you edit an email, SMS, or reminder step, choose Send even during quiet hours if that step should still send outside the window.
Use this for an immediate thank-you or a short first SMS after a late enquiry. Leave it off for later follow-ups and staff reminders.
What happens when a step is due at night
- If the step is allowed to send during quiet hours, it still sends at the usual time.
- If it is not, Neptune waits until the next send window starts, then sends it.
- Later delays are counted from when the step actually sent. A 7-day follow-up after an 8:00am send is also due around 8:00am.
Turning quiet hours off returns sequences to sending as soon as each step is due.
Quiet hours apply to sequence steps only. Manual email, manual SMS, and email SMS backup are unchanged.
