Email a client portal link

Add a reusable portal sign-in link to a customer or lead email.

On this page

Use a portal link when you want a client to return to Home and their documents without sending a new proposal.

  1. Open the customer or lead and compose an email.
  2. Select the intended contact in To. Every To address must match a contact on that record.
  3. Write your message and add a button for opening the portal.
  4. In the button’s Destination, choose Token, then choose Client portal link from the picker.
  5. Preview the email and send it.

Neptune grants the To recipients access as part of a successful send. A recipient whose access was previously revoked receives access again. CC recipients do not receive portal access automatically.

The link opens the portal sign-in page. The client uses the same email address as their contact and signs in with a six-digit code.

Use the picker to insert the portal destination. For a proposal email, keep its proposal review button: it takes the client directly to that proposal after sign-in. See Send a proposal.

You can save the button in an email template for future customer or lead emails. Check the recipients and preview the result each time you use it. A forwarded email does not give a new person access; they need access under their own contact email.
