Test Customers
Mark demonstration, training, and trial customer records as test customers so their activity does not affect your analytics.
Mark a customer as a test customer
- Open Customers.
- Add a customer, or open an existing customer and click Edit.
- Turn on Test customer.
- Click Save.
Neptune displays a Test label on the customer page and in the customer table and board. The label remains even if you change the customer’s name.
Analytics and proposals
Test customers and their related proposals are excluded from analytics. This lets you test proposal workflows without affecting reporting.
Marking a customer as test does not delete or alter their proposals. Sent, accepted, and other externally meaningful proposals remain available and continue to follow the normal proposal deletion rules.
To include the customer in analytics again, edit the customer and turn off Test customer.
When to use this setting
Use Test customer for records created for demonstrations, staff training, or workflow testing. Do not rely on the customer’s name to identify test data because names can be changed later.
