Revoke or change portal access

Remove a contact’s portal access and handle changes to their email address.

On this page

Use this guide when a contact should no longer see a lead or customer’s portal, or their email address has changed.

Revoke access

  1. Open the lead or customer record.
  2. Find the contact and open their three-dot actions menu.
  3. Choose Revoke portal access.
  4. Confirm with Revoke.

This removes portal access for that contact on this record. It does not remove the contact or revoke access they hold on another record. It also does not cancel secure Gateway links that have already been issued; ask Neptune support if those links must be withdrawn too.

Sending the contact a new proposal or an email containing a portal link grants them access again when the send succeeds. Check recipients before sending after revocation.

Change a contact’s email

  1. Edit the contact on the lead or customer.
  2. Enter the correct email address.
  3. If Neptune asks Remove client portal access?, confirm only if you intend to remove access tied to the old email.
  4. Save the contact.
  5. Grant portal access again using the new saved email, or send a new proposal or portal-link email to that contact.
  6. Tell the client to sign in with the new address.

The old access is removed rather than transferred automatically to the new email.

Remove a contact

Revoke portal access before removing the contact. If the sidebar warns A removed contact still has portal access, use its Revoke button and confirm.

For access that cannot be loaded or changed, see Portal troubleshooting.
