Profile and Notifications

Update your Neptune profile and choose web, email, and mobile notifications

On this page

Your profile controls your personal details, planner display, email signature, authentication, and notification delivery.

Update your web profile

  1. In the web app, click the coloured profile button in the top bar.
  2. Under Profile, update Name, Job Title, Email, Phone, Favourite colour, or Planner time format.
  3. Click Save changes.

Your favourite colour identifies your work in places such as the Planner. The planner format can use 12-hour (AM/PM) or 24-hour (Military time).

Changing your email also changes your login email. Neptune asks you to confirm the change, signs you out, and requires you to sign in again with the new address.

The web Settings page also contains your Email signature and Authentication options. Use Change password when you need a new password, or Log out to end the current web session.

Choose notifications on the web

The Notifications card lists the event types available to your account. Use its columns independently:

  • In-app controls notifications in the web app’s notification menu.
  • Email controls messages sent to your email address.
  • Mobile controls push notifications to the mobile app. This column appears after a mobile device has registered for push notifications.

Changing one delivery method does not automatically change the others. For example, an event can be on for in-app notifications and off for email.

Read and clear web notifications

Open the bell in the web app’s top bar. The badge counts unread notifications, and an orange dot identifies each unread item. Selecting a notification marks it as read and opens its related record when available.

Use Mark all as read to clear unread status. Delete all read notifications removes notifications already marked as read; it does not delete their related records.

Connect Gmail when available

If Settings shows a Gmail card, you can connect your mailbox for emails where you are the selected sender.

  1. Click Connect Gmail.
  2. Choose the intended Google account and approve the requested access.
  3. Return to Neptune and confirm Connected as shows the correct email.

Use Disconnect Gmail to remove this connection. If the card is missing, check availability with your administrator or Neptune support. See Sending Emails for choosing senders and shared defaults, and Email Signatures for your signature.

Use the mobile Profile tab

Open Profile in the mobile app to:

  • View your name and email
  • Tap Change color to update the colour used for your work
  • Choose Mobile and Email delivery for the notification types shown
  • Tap Logout

The mobile app does not show an In-app settings column. It also shows a smaller notification list than the web app. Contractors see task notifications relevant to their field work: Tasks Deleted, Job Task Updated, Customer Task Updated, and New Job Tasks.

Troubleshooting mobile notifications

  1. Confirm notifications are allowed for Neptune in the device settings.
  2. Open Neptune on the device and sign in so it can register for push notifications.
  3. In the mobile Profile tab, turn on Mobile for the required event.
  4. If available, check the same event’s Mobile switch on the web Settings page.

Push notifications require a physical device, notification permission, and a network connection. If a notification arrives while the app is open, Neptune displays it in a Notification window. Tapping supported task, customer, or chat notifications can open the related record.

See Mobile App for sign-in, task, camera, and location help.
