Update the settings
- Go to Admin.
- Open Proposal Settings.
- Choose the Base Product Display Mode.
- If you selected Group with primary section, choose whether to show the base product price.
- Choose the base product details to show.
- Choose the label used in the proposal builder picker.
Changes save automatically. Refresh any proposal or Gateway page that was already open in another tab to see the updated presentation.
Configure Proposal Display Settings
Administrators can control how the base product appears in proposal summaries and PDFs.

Choose the Base Product Details
Use Pool details to choose the details shown with the base product. If you sell more than one base product type, this setting is called Product details.
You can choose:
- Size, Volume and Loads for pools.
- Cover measurements for pool covers.
- Any custom attribute your organization has set up. See Manage product attributes.
Details appear in the order you select them, for example “Coral Bay - Size: 8, Volume: 42,000 litres”. They are used in the proposal builder, the proposal summary and PDF, the client portal, and supply agreements.
- Leave the list empty to show only the base product’s name.
- A detail with no value for a particular product is left out, so blank or zero values never appear.
- Custom attributes appear only when you select them.
Until you change this setting, Neptune shows Size, Volume, Loads and Cover measurements. If you had previously turned off Show Base Product Details, Neptune shows only Size.
Choose the Picker Label
Use Pool picker label to choose the details shown after each name when you choose a base product in the proposal builder. If you sell more than one base product type, this setting is called Product picker label.
The picker shows Size until you change it. If you don’t use Size, choose the detail your team uses to tell products apart, such as a length custom attribute. Leave the list empty to show only the name.
Choose the Base Product Display Mode
Use Base Product Display Mode to choose where the base product appears:
- Group with primary section places the base product inside your primary product section, such as Pool / Spa / Features.
- Show as standalone section gives the base product its own section and displays its price. The standalone section total also appears in the proposal summary.
Show the Base Product Price
Show Base Product Price is available only when the display mode is Group with primary section.
- Turn it on to show the base product’s individual price.
- Turn it off to show Included beside the base product. Its price remains part of the primary section total.
When the base product is shown as a standalone section, Neptune displays its price automatically, so this additional setting is not needed.
