Sales Funnel
The Sales Funnel report shows how leads and customers progress through conversion, proposals, and signed contracts. Use it to compare results by consultant or lead source.
Only administrators can open Statistics. Customers marked as test customers are excluded from the report.
Open the Sales Funnel
- Open Admin > Statistics.
- Select the Sales Funnel tab. It is selected automatically when you first open Statistics.
- Open Date filter and choose the period you want to review.
The report starts with the current month. You can select a month, quarter, half-year, year, custom range, or one of the quick date options. The selected date range is shared by all reports on the Statistics page.
The meaning of the selected date range depends on the Sales Funnel view you choose.
Follow records created in a period
Use Created in period to follow a group of leads or customers from when they entered Neptune through to later sales milestones.
- Select Created in period under View.
- Select Leads or Customers under Start with.
- Select Consultant or Lead source under Break down by.
When you start with Leads, the selected date range controls when the leads were created. The report shows how many of those leads were converted into customers, had a proposal sent, had a proposal accepted, and reached a signed contract.
When you start with Customers, the selected date range controls when the customers were created. The report follows those customers through proposal sent, proposal accepted, and contract signed.
Later milestones are included even when they happen after the selected period. For example, a lead created in June and converted in July still contributes to June’s Created in period results. This means results for a recent period can change as its leads and customers continue through the funnel.
Review contracts signed in a period
Use Contracts signed when you want the selected date range to apply to the date contracts reached signed status.
- Select Contracts signed under View.
- Select Consultant or Lead source under Break down by.
This view shows how many contracts were signed in the period and how many of them:
- Came from converted leads
- Had at least one proposal sent
- Had at least one accepted proposal
Use this view to understand the sales history behind completed contracts rather than following one group from its creation date.
Read the results
The cards at the top show totals and conversion rates for the whole organisation. The table underneath shows the same results grouped by consultant or lead source.
The percentage columns show the share that moved from one milestone to the next. Hover over a heading for its definition. A dash means Neptune does not have a suitable starting number or enough timing information to calculate the result.
The table can also show the average number of days from lead to customer and from record creation to the first proposal sent. Older proposals still count in the funnel, but their timing information may be incomplete. Timing becomes more accurate as newer proposals move through the system.
If a consultant has been disabled, their historical results remain and their name is marked Disabled. Records without a recognised consultant or lead source can appear under Unknown.
