The MYOB integration creates or updates MYOB customers from Neptune customer details and sends Neptune invoices as MYOB service invoices. Customer sync includes the customer name, address, and primary contact email and phone.
The MYOB tile must be available under Admin → Integrations, and you need access to authorise the intended MYOB account. Only one accounting provider can be connected to Neptune at a time.
Connect MYOB
- Open Admin → Integrations and select MYOB.
- Click Connect MYOB.
- Sign in to MYOB and approve access.
- Return to Neptune.
Neptune shows MYOB connected and the status changes to Connected. If another provider is connected, disconnect it first.
Set up customer sync
- Under Auto-create customer in MYOB, choose Don’t auto-sync, When the customer is created, or When a contract is signed.
- Under MYOB customer designation, choose Company or Individual.
Neptune shows a saved confirmation after each change. Linked customers are updated in MYOB when their name, address, or primary contact email or phone changes.
To sync manually, open the Neptune customer and use Sync to MYOB in the accounting summary. After the first sync, the action becomes Sync again. If these controls are missing, confirm MYOB is connected and available to your organisation, then contact Neptune support.
Configure invoice sync
- In the connected MYOB drawer, find Invoice sync.
- Choose Sync manually or Sync automatically on creation.
- Under MYOB invoice defaults, select a Default revenue account and Default tax code.
- Click Save invoice settings.
Automatic sync requires both defaults. Neptune calculates invoice totals from the organisation tax settings. The MYOB defaults select the revenue account and tax code applied to each service-invoice line. Synced invoices are open service invoices in MYOB.
With manual sync, create the invoice in Neptune, open its details, and click Sync to MYOB. See Invoices.
Refresh payment statuses
When the connected MYOB permissions support invoice status reading, the Invoices page shows Refresh payment statuses. Click it to check synced MYOB invoices. Neptune reports how many were marked paid or confirms that statuses are up to date.
Disconnect MYOB
Open Admin → Integrations → MYOB and click Disconnect. Neptune shows MYOB disconnected. New customer and invoice sync stops until an accounting provider is connected and configured again.
Troubleshooting
- Automatic invoice sync cannot be saved: Select both a revenue account and tax code.
- A revenue account or tax code is missing: Confirm it is available in the connected MYOB file, then reopen the settings. Contact support if the options still do not load.
- An invoice sync fails: Open the invoice and read the error shown there. Correct the connection or defaults, then retry Sync to MYOB.
- MYOB is missing from Integrations: Contact Neptune support to confirm availability for your organisation.
