Prepare the client-facing content in your catalogue before creating proposals for the portal.
Upload any brochures to your Files library first so you can select them from the catalogue.
Prepare a base product
- Open Products and select the relevant base product type tab.
- Open an existing base product. If it is new, create and save it first, then reopen it.
- On Details, enter Client description and check the standard and custom attributes clients should read. Save the description with the base product form.
- Open Presentation.
- Under Image, use Upload new image to add the main image, or Remove image to remove it.
- Choose a Brochure from the available library.
- Under More photos, click Add photos to add extra images. Drag photos to reorder them, or use a photo’s remove button to remove it from the gallery.
The main image is shown before the extra photos in the portal proposal. Image, brochure and gallery changes save immediately; the client description saves with the base product form.
For the basic catalogue process, see Create and manage base products.
Prepare an individual product
- Open Products and find the individual catalogue product you want to describe.
- Open its form and choose Presentation.
- Enter Client description for the longer explanation clients should see.
- Under Photo, use Upload photo, Replace photo or Remove photo as needed.
- Choose a Brochure from your library, or clear the selection to remove it.
- Save the product.
These presentation changes save with the product. The existing short Description remains the proposal line text; Client description supplies the additional detail clients can open in the portal. Presentation fields are not offered while editing a pricing-mode draft.
Check a new proposal
Create a proposal after preparing the catalogue content, then review it before sending. Catalogue changes do not rewrite the content already saved in existing proposals.
In the portal, clients can see the base product’s available photos, description, brochure and attributes. Product lines with additional details have an arrow that opens their description, image or brochure. These extra portal details do not add new products or change the agreed quantities or prices.
See Review and accept a portal proposal for the client’s steps and Send a proposal for sharing it.
